IF I CAN - ANYONE CAN!!
I am a Team GB triathlete. I am also a mainstream secondary special needs teacher, I have been teaching 12 years. Until 2005, i was very unfit,very overweight, and didnt do much exercise.
For nearly ten years, I was an RFU referee (quite a lazy one!) With the help from weight watchers, I managed to shed 4.5 stone, and
one of my last games before I retired was an England v Canada U19 international.
I then looked for a new challenge, and found triathlon. I did my first tri in 2007, then with the help of a coach, I managed to earn a spot on the GB team for the 2009 World Triathlon Championships in Australia (much to my amazement!) I am representing Great Britain for the second consecutive year at European as well as International level.
I am a member of Northants Tri Club and am coached by Steve Casson, BTF accredited level 3 coach.
